Last Tuesday, James and I surprised the boys by leaving work at 4:30 and taking them out. We've been needing to spend some extra time with them. You know, time that doesn't involve nagging about homework or college applications, time that doesn't involve fixing or cleaning something, and definitely time that doesn't involve us working and peeking in at them every few minutes while they watch tv.
We are blessed to live close to the beach and the Intracoastal Waterway and our favorite spot on "our" island (Topsail Island) is Soundside Park. It's right next to the coolest swing bridge ever...
...and you can catch the most amazing sunsets there...
... and when decorated for the holidays, it's absolutely gorgeous!

We'll be spending lots of time there over Christmas break for sure!
